The Shelton Art League

welcome
WELCOME
The Shelton Art League welcomes new members and returning members to its 130th season. Members hail from all areas of Connecticut, have different backgrounds, varied skills and experiences, but all have a shared interest in the decorative and fine arts.
Members in good-standing have the option to attend art classes each Spring and Fall . The league also supports art exhibits and workshops throughout the year. During its season monthly meetings can include artist demonstrations as well as lively conversation and the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. Meetings are held at the Shelton Community Center, 41 Church Street, Shelton, CT 06484 from September to June.
MISSION
The objective of the league is to nurture an understanding and appreciation of the fine arts, graphic design, and crafts. To that end it supports local artists and crafters with a platform that is available to the public to demonstrate and explain their work. The league fosters knowledge and experience of its members by providing the opportunity for further education, hands-on experiences, participation in discussions and an avenue to display their work. The Shelton Art League also supports education with an annual scholarship awarded to deserving seniors from local communities who are entering the art sector.
